You have expressed what I was thinking perfectly. I am definately not a political animal in any shape or form, in fact I hardly even read the news because I find it all so depressing most of the time. However I believe in the basic principle that we are all created equal, we all should be treated with the same respect and as we all live on this planet we are all responsible for what we do, and what others do. No action stands alone – all are subject to the ripple effect. I wish the Obama government all the very best in these very trying times. He has his heart in the right place and his morals and standing support this. He’s human and will make mistakes but that is part of being human. I think that Americans made the right (and only) choice.

Cool article, As I shared my thoughs about the US election on FB yeterday, neverless I believe that Obama is a good man & he s the only right person to lead the Americans, to fix their stuff (& their is a fair bit to fix). I am a great belever on the small NZ we live in & a few countries in the world should look @ us (including USA) & as you said nobody is perfect!
I have the heritage & priviledge to come from a country of great freedom & democracy, the 1st in the world (France) & it was a hard, messy road but the french did it, so the Americans & the Kiwis can do it. We could talk for hours about this, but just a good Kiwi say to finish for Obama “good on ya mate”.

This is quite good – a coherent outpouring of insight and honesty. As soon as we all understand that being perfect is NOT part of the equation, the sooner we will move on to the important things. Did you know that, once freed of the body, the soul has no gender or race distinction? That which endures is free of all earthly considerations. I’ve never figured out why anyone WANTS this job – though I understand (as a college graduate) that four years is just long enough to get things started. Hang onto your hats, everyone. Here we go!

Beautiful article, thank you. Though I am American, I haven’t lived in the US for more than 5 years, but I was still very interested in this election and pleased about the outcome. I agree that the impact extends far beyond American borders.

Although the US Presidential election is very important and selecting the better candidate is important, we need to remember that despite the campaign rhetoric, both candidates are smart, decent leaders who want the US to become an even greater country. No matter who wins the election, the sun will rise, the government will be stable, and this great democratic experiment will continue to be an example to the world.

As an Australian and conservative voter, my heart lies with the Republicans BUT last year I met Obama’s grand mother in Kenya… so he represents what is truly great about America… you can achieve the top without being from money… I believe that HOPE for the next term will bring REAL results
