Today's Good Mood is Sponsored by Coffee

It’s ANZAC day in my corner of the world. A day when we remember the Australia & New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who fought at Gallipoli – and subsequently those soldiers who have been sent to other wars throughout the years – and the many who didn’t come home. From small areas around New Zealand young men were sent to the other side of the world to fight. Two young men from my partener’s family lost their lives on August 8 in the battle of Chanuk Bair. In that same battle on that same day, a man by the name of Ernest Jurd also gave his life – some years later his brother named his eldest son Ernest, who became my Dad. Dennis’ great uncles and my great uncle may never have been more to each other than a nod in passing – soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice to King and Country. But all these years later, our families are brought together and together we will not forget. May we never have to send our spouses, our children, or our grandchildren to follow in their footsteps.

Weddings & Wishes (Holiday Storybook Novellas 5)

Drum roll please! Weddings & Wishes has been edited and is now being formatted and prepped for upload. Join some old friends and make some new ones as we prepare for the most important event in Edelweiss Grove yet. Be sure to watch your email over the next day or two for the release link, but in the meantime here’s a little teaser:

Freckles pipes up again.
“What if you,” he points to me, “plan Rorik’s side of things and you,” he points to Aldredge, “plan Boden’s?”
Boden! That’s it!
“That’s a great idea.” Boden beams. “Come and sit down and we can iron out the details.”
I fold my arms. It is not a great idea. It’s anything but a great idea. The only possible result would be a complete mess.
“I am not working with that hunk of goblin turd. Either I am the planner or not.”
Rorik scratches the scruff on his chin. “Actually, I think Boden and Simon are right. I can’t see why it wouldn’t work.” He looks at Boden, then Valentino, and finally back at me. “Freddie is it? We’ll set a theme, you’ll take care of helping me get sorted, Valentino here can look after Boden, and together you can figure out the remaining details.” He looks at Boden. “What do you think Small One?”
“I think it’s a great idea,” the younger Elf agrees. “And it would solve the time issue.”
Solve the time issue? Nothing is going to solve the time issue. It doesn’t matter how many planners there are or how much magic you throw at this thing, it’s a disaster waiting to happen.
“Oh come on Freddie, it could be fun. Just like old times.” Valentino tilts his head to one side and I wonder what my chances will be of losing the gig if I punch him right in his smug face.
Just like old times?
Do I look like I want to have my heart mangled again?

From other authors…

Guardian Gabe (The Lonely Heroes #2) from Sam E Kraemer

Gabriele Torrente: “Mr. Torrente? You need to come down here.” My receptionist isn’t one to make demands, so I hurry down the stairs to see what all the fuss is about. Little did I know, the moment I walk down those stairs, my life is going to change in ways I can’t begin to fathom. The boy and girl seated in the lobby come as a surprise, but the man bursting through the front door moments later has me nearly swallowing my tongue. He’s beautiful, funny, and infuriating. He says he’s a dancer with a job lined up on a cruise ship, but he’s crazy if he thinks I’ll admit to being the father of these two adorable kids I’ve never seen before in my life. His name is Dexter Carrington. What the hell is happening to my once serene life?

Dexter Carrington: A call from my mother informs me that she has my niece and nephew for the summer because my sister, a mediocre hair stylist from Jersey City, has decided to take a job that requires her to travel. The unexpected call a few weeks later telling me my mother passed away is devastating, and a social worker says my niece and nephew will have to go into foster care, which only compounds my problems. I’m able to work out a deal to take the kids until my sister is found or their father is identified. Should be easy since I have a photo of him, right? The handsome man I meet claims to be a wedding photographer, but when I catch the flash of a gun holster while he’s kneeling down to talk to my niece and nephew—who he looks nothing like—I have the impression there’s a lot more to him than he’s letting on. He’s unlike any man I’ve ever met, and his name is Gabriele Torrente. What the hell is happening to my once dull and peaceful life?

This book is approximately 103,000 words in length, and doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. It is the second book in the series entitled, ‘The Lonely Heroes Series.’ Get your copy here or by clicking the image below:
